Photos to come later.
This day’s adventures began with sleeping in and starting slowly.
The sun was already high in the sky when we donned our bright yellow canoe costumes and headed to the water.
I Love Canoeing!
The water sparkled and winked at me teasingly as we set out. This trip involved heading over to the dam and taking a short trot over a dirt trail to the quickly flowing water on the other side.
The rocks are plenty, and the bubbling flow just giggles with energy- made me a bit silly, it did! I barked and barked with joy!
Back into the canoe, I settled in to the front where mom likes me to be, and off we went! First thing- little wigglie guys in the water- as big as my paw !
Then winding through the narrow stream- so many smells!
We came to open water, higher wind and headed towards a little wooden overpass. Dad said he had never been able to come this far before and we floated under it and through to Lake Sprocket ( well, that’s what we are calling it until we find the real name).
Quiet, peaceful, with a glorious entrance of lily pads plus other water plants, we had a lovely shady paddle. Oh and apparently a turtle.
We headed back towards open water and Dad mentioned he want to “find that Loon”. Mom spotted it ahead and we went towards it.
Gradually, 1 became 2, and 2 became mom and dad with 2 feather babies!
BOL!
Mom and Dad took pics as I tried to get a better view! Dad asked mom to paddle around, and she managed to circle the family as feeding time began.
I think I saw mom pop up out of the water with a little wigglie guy in her muzzle, bark to her feather babies and then the baby closest grabbed it!
How exciting! BOL!
Then the wind pushed our floating viewing station right into the middle of them! Mom and Dad were getting excited too, as they were shooting video and pics, and I just couldn’t stop myself….BOLBOLBOL
SPLOOSH!
And I was swimming!
I tried to head over to see the mom but I found I was not getting any closer, and all I can hear is laughter! Then I was flying and landed down in front of Mom as if nothing happened.
I was shaking with the adrenaline!
It was so exciting!
I know- you want photos- there will be a series of photos and video when my two-leggers get back to viable wifi!
For now, use your imagination and enjoy this little fire shot from the winding down part of the day!
