Settling in back in the ‘hood
Life’s settling into a system now in the new place.
Mom and I get up, trot out the door and set off Esmerelda behind the door below us.
Then I sniff around the usual places.
We come home, and I build up my energy for 3 bursts upwards.
It’s hard work, but I am managing.
Still have my comfy blankies and have had done transitional walking partners!
Time for another day up start!
BOL- have a good one!!
Home again, Home Again- #lapdogdujour
Finally.
My two leggers have been refusing me access to the computer because they didn’t want me blowing through their phone data plans.
But Ahh- internet is alive again!
And I am finally making this new place my own!
I bark lots as doors seem to slam and people run up and town stairs, but then I calm down and chill.
And my neighbour, Esmeralda, always tries to come out to play when she hears me going for my walk- but I never see her outside! And her pet kitten looks delicious too.
Mom finally got access to the back stoop and let me wander around out there! Our nexties will have 4leggers visiting them on occasion, so I hope to have some playmates!
And excitement – the bed gets direct sunlight! I’m in heaven!
“Lookout”
Trail walking on the “Lookout trail” was fun. I pulled mom up almost the whole way, and tried to pull her down too but she fought me.
And sunshiny paddling.
Apparently a two-legger holiday weekend is upon us, so mom refuses to post for me for the next few days, but she promises exciting Loonie-Sprocket video link in the near future!
Dad saw a momma bear and her cubs
More paddling, more walking
Lovely breakfast with the guest two-leggers meant I got some eggy bits,
Reading in the afternoon meant the usual snuggles.
And supper later, the gifts of broccoli bits were laid before me, as well as bits of the extra “mookies” mom made with leftover batter from C’s, muffins in a half orange #campsperiment.
Tis good to be queen .
Another day in the park…what? Company!!!
Woke up.
Went for a paddle but no swimming.
Chilled on the big comfy chair.
Then suddenly more two-leggers!
Yay!
I jumped and grappled and tried to climb them in my usual way!! I then tried to hop up on Chris’ lap- but found it easiest to wait until he left his chair unattended.
Then I was exhausted and went to bed early.
How was your day?
Loonies are more than coins for laundry
Photos to come later.
This day’s adventures began with sleeping in and starting slowly.
The sun was already high in the sky when we donned our bright yellow canoe costumes and headed to the water.
I Love Canoeing!
The water sparkled and winked at me teasingly as we set out. This trip involved heading over to the dam and taking a short trot over a dirt trail to the quickly flowing water on the other side.
The rocks are plenty, and the bubbling flow just giggles with energy- made me a bit silly, it did! I barked and barked with joy!
Back into the canoe, I settled in to the front where mom likes me to be, and off we went! First thing- little wigglie guys in the water- as big as my paw !
Then winding through the narrow stream- so many smells!
We came to open water, higher wind and headed towards a little wooden overpass. Dad said he had never been able to come this far before and we floated under it and through to Lake Sprocket ( well, that’s what we are calling it until we find the real name).
Quiet, peaceful, with a glorious entrance of lily pads plus other water plants, we had a lovely shady paddle. Oh and apparently a turtle.
We headed back towards open water and Dad mentioned he want to “find that Loon”. Mom spotted it ahead and we went towards it.
Gradually, 1 became 2, and 2 became mom and dad with 2 feather babies!
BOL!
Mom and Dad took pics as I tried to get a better view! Dad asked mom to paddle around, and she managed to circle the family as feeding time began.
I think I saw mom pop up out of the water with a little wigglie guy in her muzzle, bark to her feather babies and then the baby closest grabbed it!
How exciting! BOL!
Then the wind pushed our floating viewing station right into the middle of them! Mom and Dad were getting excited too, as they were shooting video and pics, and I just couldn’t stop myself….BOLBOLBOL
SPLOOSH!
And I was swimming!
I tried to head over to see the mom but I found I was not getting any closer, and all I can hear is laughter! Then I was flying and landed down in front of Mom as if nothing happened.
I was shaking with the adrenaline!
It was so exciting!
I know- you want photos- there will be a series of photos and video when my two-leggers get back to viable wifi!
For now, use your imagination and enjoy this little fire shot from the winding down part of the day!
Zero gravity chair surfing day…oh yeah- #lapdogdujour
Big Pines in the park
Mom has been spending time on her comfy chair with a small block of fluttery stuff in her hands for a while. I am ok with this as I can take my guard spot between her knees and enjoy looking down on the furry ittybittychittery things that have been scurrying around.
Apparently this “book” she has been reading, ” The Ancestors Are Arranging Things”, was written by another two-legger who was nearby so my two-leggers went to meet her.
Whatever- I stayed in my jail and enjoyed the warmth.
Then we went for a jaunty journey through the woods where Mom and Dad kept telling me to sit and wait- I just wanted to run up and down!
But it was great fun, as was the paddle later!
Oh, and no residual effects from my toad hunting adventures.
